Message	with some metals, the sand can get stuck in the metal, which isnt a big deal but to get them out you need to hit them with an ultra high frequency sound wave. if your just gonna repaint them, rough them up with 400 like bradz said. if you sand blast it, you might as well take it down to the metal. its really more ideal if you were going to polish them.
